Serbia getting Israeli Hermes drones

Serbia has finalized a $335 million deal to acquire Israeli-made PULS artillery rocket systems and Hermes 900 reconnaissance drones, aiming to bolster its military capabilities amid a regional arms race with Croatia.

Hermes 900

The Hermes 900 drones are equipped with high-performance sensors capable of detecting ground and maritime targets in challenging weather conditions. With a payload capacity of up to 350 kilograms, these drones support a range of missions, including intelligence, surveillance, maritime patrol, ground support, and communications relay. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić emphasized that these acquisitions are among the most sophisticated globally, enhancing Serbia's defense posture in response to Croatia's recent procurement of US-made weapons and Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drones. The delivery of these systems is expected by mid-2028.
